In my spare time, I enjoy collaborating on projects with my code partner, Luuk. For this project, I was responsible for the design and audio, while Luuk handled the development and implementation on the web. We utilized data from RescueGroups, which provides information on dogs available for adoption in the USA and Canada.
 

Every day, countless dogs become available for adoption, and our goal was to create a platform that showcases these adorable pets. We designed a small, interactive town where the newest arrivals are displayed prominently, giving them extra attention and helping them find a (new) home.
 

My Role

• Design:
  I crafted the overall visual design for the project, ensuring it was engaging and user-friendly. The design aimed to create a welcoming atmosphere for potential adopters, highlighting the dogs in a playful and appealing way.

• Audio:
  I also took on the task of creating audio elements for the project, adding an extra layer of engagement for visitors.

• Collaboration:
  Luuk and I worked closely to bring the design to life. He integrated the data from RescueGroups into the web application, ensuring that users could easily access information about each dog available for adoption.
   

Outcome

The result is a charming, interactive platform where users can spot all the dogs that are taking a break in our virtual town. Each dog can be clicked on to reveal more information, making it easy for visitors to learn about them and consider adoption. Additionally, we included a fun Easter egg for users to discover, enhancing the interactive experience.

Impact

By shining a spotlight on dogs available for adoption, we hope to increase awareness and encourage potential adopters to consider giving these wonderful animals a new home. The project serves as a reminder of the importance of animal adoption and the joy that comes with welcoming a pet into one's life.
